Majahr (pictured) sits, gripping her pink sputum pot
like her life depends on it. And it just might. Majahr is six. She lives in southeast Pakistan. She has a
cough, fever, fatigue and has lost her appetite – classic signs of TB. Her family could not afford
transport to the clinic. Her grandfather, Soomar, trekked the five miles with
her. He’d give his left leg if it would help heal her. Drugs are too expensive for poor
families like Majahr’s. Were the clinic not here death for Majahr would follow. Tearfund supports a local project
which provides free medicines, medical advice and prayer support to families
trapped in poverty. Holy Trinity Church’s
J Team celebration service on Sunday the 2nd April will be looking
at how we can help children such as Majahr fight TB. Please bring any pennies you have collected since our last
Tear Fund appeal which raised £180 so we can be Christ to other communities
around the world who are struggling.
