Dear Friends

Of whom the world was not worthy.  [Heb ch11v38]  This is how Hebrews describes the people of faith who endured suffering and all manner of privation and who risked their lives to serve the Lord.

This last two weeks it has been my privilege to be with and hear the testimonies of children’s workers and leaders some who, even as I write, are risking their lives taking the gospel to China and Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, India, Zimbabwe, Philippines and many more countries.

There were over 80 of us who gathered at a retreat centre called Peacehaven 5000 feet up a Malaysian mountain for a Global Summit of children’s workers.  After travelling from the tropical heat of Kuala Lumpur where we initially gathered the delegates were transported to the relative cool of this mountain sanctuary.  Here we heard each others presentations of what God was doing in our land, in our ministry and whatever God laid on our hearts to share within the hour we were allotted.  Forty two were mandated to share within the confine of the week.  I had the privilege of being one of them sharing my perspective of what God is doing in Scotland and in the other countries I have ministered in.  However as I listened to the presentations of my brothers and sisters from around the world I was thrilled and also humbled as I heard what God is doing in the countries mentioned above.  Literally thousands of teachers are being trained to take the Gospel to the children and tens and hundreds of thousands of children are being reached with the Gospel.

Some of the delegates were specifically involved in training teachers; others were preparing and providing materials, others in working amongst the abused and forgotten children and being a powerful voice on their behalf.  I was so challenged as I listened.  Most of the delegates shared with a power point presentation, a new experience for many including myself, but the pictures shown communicated the messages powerfully.  As the Summit came to a conclusion Gwen suggested that those who would like to could participate in a foot washing service.  This was such a moving event we closed with.  To see the delegates graciously and lovingly wash each others feet and to share in the honour of washing the feet of those who I know are the unsung saints of God was one of the enduring highlights of the Summit.

The vision to organise the Summit was given to Gwen Davies of Latter Rain Ministries.  Her team arrange schools of missions in countries around the world and even now are working in Chennai India.

In Kuala Lumpur those who facilitated the Summit were the F.G.A. [Full Gospel Assembly].  This church has just celebrated its 25th anniversary and has grown to the largest church in Malaysia.  They have two morning meetings on a Sunday the first at 7.30 has 2100 attending; the second service at 11 a.m. has 2300.  They were truly wonderful in their hospitality and providing the arrangements for the Summit and accommodation for those of us who stayed on in K.L. for the subsequent teacher’s conference and a few days afterwards.

Now once again I ask for prayer as I am preparing to go to Nicaragua.  I will be leaving for the states on the 16th November and fly to Managua on the 26th.  We will be there for two weeks working mainly on the island of Ometepe.  Nicaragua has suffered recently from the hurricanes that have been plaguing the region.  After Nicaragua I travel back to the States staying there for Christmas and being involved in meetings in Alabama and Philadelphia,

When I am away I do appreciate so much receiving E-mails as it is the only way to keep in touch, so if you get time to drop me a line I would be grateful.

Thank you for your prayers and support and I would like, in closing, to wish you a very blessed and encouraging Christmas.

Love in Christ

Mike Taylor.
