What is MOPS?

MOPS started with eight women in 1973, it lasted for two hours while their children received care and the mum’s talked, laughed, ate and had a craft.  Through friendship, creative outlets and instruction the woman began to understand that “mothering matters”.  Today, the same needs for significance are met in much the same way in MOPS groups across the world.

MOPS at Holy Trinity started in 2006 when a few mums got together looking for something different than the normal Mothers and Toddlers group.  MOPS gives you the opportunity to enjoy “hot” coffee, chat about mothering topics lead by great guest speakers, enjoy making crafts and have some pampered “me time” whilst building great friendships.

There are two MOPS groups at Holy Trinity, MOPS and MOPS@Nite both groups run fortnightly during term time, visit MOPS or MOPS@Nite links to find out more about each group.

Each year MOPS follows a theme, MOPS invites you to join us for the 2010-2011 term in the learning process as together we explore MOMOLOGY: The Art and Science of Mothering.

Mothering is both Art and Science.  It combines all of who we are to shape healthy, resilient kids.  MOMOLOGY is the art and science of mastering the nappy changes, the temper tantrums, the picky eating, potty training, the house cleaning, the washing, preparing meals and successfully belting your little darlings into the car whilst holding your coffee and the changing bag…all without breaking a sweat!
